The Kwik Kerb Difference: Surface-Hardened Color

 

Unlike standard curbing that mixes a small amount of dye into the wet cement, we utilize a dry-shake color hardener method. The pigment is broadcast onto the surface and troweled in during the finishing process. This creates a "wear layer" that is significantly stronger and more vibrant than integrated color.

• Vibrant Pigment: Produces much deeper, more saturated colors that don't look "washed out."

• Increased Durability: The hardener actually densifies the surface, making it more resistant to weathering and abrasion.

• Better Stamping: It provides a better "canvas" for decorative stamps, ensuring the textures are crisp and defined.

The Cons (What to know)

• Surface Only: If the curb is deeply chipped by a heavy impact, the natural grey concrete may show underneath.

• Labor Intensive: Requires a skilled hand to apply evenly, which is why "discount" installers avoid it.

• Initial Variation: Like natural stone, there can be slight tonal variations during the curing process.
